Formal procedures and technical preparations for the start of construction of the A2 motorway section Mińsk Mazowiecki – Siedlce are underway.
The contract, which is being carried out by Stecol, includes the preparation of a building permit design, obtaining the necessary decisions and then the construction of approximately 13 km of A2 motorway Mińsk Mazowiecki – Siedlce (between the Groszki and Gręzów interchanges). Under the agreement, signed in January 2021, a dual carriageway will be built, with two lanes (and a reserve for the possible construction of a third lane in both directions). There will also be parallel roads to serve the adjacent area, as well as environmental and traffic safety facilities.
Completion of the environmental impact reassessment procedure
The procedure for reassessing the environmental impact of the project, which was conducted by the Regional Director of Environmental Protection in Warsaw, was concluded positively. On 12 October, RDOŚ issued a decision arranging the conditions for the project.
Preparatory work
Alongside the formal procedures, preparations are underway to commence construction work. The construction site is being prepared, with the first machines already in operation. Aggregate stockpiling has started and the plants and mixers will soon start work.
Access roads are also being prepared. Archaeological investigations covering a strip of the planned road including the adjacent land are being carried out. More subcontractors and suppliers are being contracted, and around 90 people are involved in various types of preparatory and design work. Full commencement of work will be possible after the Mazovian Voivode issues a decision authorising the execution of the road investment (ZRID).
